What’s your board up to lately?

The September board meeting featured manager Glen Evan’s last report, you can check it out here. Glen was given a heartfelt goodbye from the board. Clyde Moore is stepping back in as interim manager while the search continues for a new manager.

The Personnel committee chair Deborah Jenkins reported that most of the people applying at indeed.com for the manager job are not qualified. In addition, Deborah and the committee feel that, without a 15% pay increase for the job, we’re wasting our time. The board did not immediately respond to that recommendation.

Pearl Hunter’s report from the social committee highlighted the ongoing school supplies drive, and the upcoming food drive, as well as the community garage sale. Watch your email for more details soon.

The HOA continues to operate in the red. The August budget showed a $35,000 deficit, mostly due to running and staffing the swimming pools. The income that continues to be collected from past-due dues is helping keep us afloat, along with a large check from a class-action settlement from a fracking oil company.

Next month: Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 28, 2023! Watch for updates!
