Housing Solutions

Beth Shepherd and I met today with Rafa and Alicia from Housing Solutions. The organization takes a social service view of our unhoused or homeless population in Tulsa. The people at Housing Solutions do not “remove” homeless people from an encampment, but work with them to find housing. As you may be aware, several neighbors have seen some homeless camping in our woods. Rafa said he and Alicia take clients to work with to help them find housing, as well as help getting into the many social service systems such as social security and health insurance. We walked up the path behind the clubhouse where homeless have been spotted recently but did not see anyone. One big concern is that it appears there were some campfires started—a safety issue for all homeowners. Alicia told us that if we see or smell evidence of campfires, we should call the Tulsa Fire Marshal at (918) 596-9422.
